Mason and I met as freshmen on the Michigan Sailing Team (Go Blue!). During school, we spent many hours together in engineering lectures, at regattas, and serving as co-captains of the team.
After graduation, we both wanted to explore the West Coast. Mason moved to Santa Monica and I started a job in Seattle. Luckily, Mason landed a remote job and moved to Seattle a year later. We have a shared passion for adventure and outdoor exploration. We’ve biked from Seattle to Portland, summited Mount Rainier, kite boarded on alpine lakes, backcountry skied from the top of Camp Muir, and sailed to the San Juans.
In May 2023, we purchased a ’43 sailboat (Discovery) – where Mason proposed in July. A few months later, we sold most of our worldly possessions and moved aboard at Shilshole. We plan to set sail in May 2025 for an extended trip.

My dad nurtured my love for sailing aboard his J/24, sparking a lifelong passion. I spent my childhood summers taking sailing lessons at Noroton Yacht Club, CT, starting at the age of 8. In 2013, my family and I embarked on an unforgettable adventure—my parents quit their jobs, and we spent a year sailing along the U.S. East Coast, through the Caribbean, and into the Bahamas (blog). That journey left an indelible mark on me and inspired my dream of embracing this lifestyle again. Now, I’m making that dream a reality, this time with my lifelong partner by my side.

Also known as Loopy, Loopy Loo, or Mr. Poops, this is our adventurous boat kitty! Loops is the ultimate first mate—always ready to explore, keep watch, and make life aboard even more fun.
While he’s not a huge fan of being underway (heeling and engine sounds are not his thing), Loops thrives when we’re stationary. You’ll find him lounging in the sun, prowling the docks, or claiming your project workspace as his own. His endless curiosity and charm are truly impossible to resist.

Still in my car seat, my dad would strap me in and set off for the Catalina Islands. These early adventures sparked my connection to the water. Later, we moved to Spring Lake, Michigan, where my love for sailing expanded as I spent my summers racing Butterflys. Outside of sailing, I’m an avid kiteboarder, and living on the water is the ideal location for a nightly sunset session.
